Perhaps what could be mentioned in sculptural expressions at this time is the construction and assembly of the Main Altarpiece of the Church of Merced de Comayagua, built in the 1820s by the carpenter Coronado Chavez. It is of great merit that two decades later this carpenter would become Constitutional President of Honduras in 1845.
