Introduction
Among the many questions that researchers ask themselves in front of rupestrian art, one of the most complex ones is that related to its meaning. Finding an answer to all the unknowns emanating from these extraordinary figures is yet really problematic; since the beginning of the 20th century efforts were made in this sense, and some of the conclusions reached today are unquestionably surpassed and would hardly resist a superficial analysis.
Rock art is a phenomenon linked to human thought, and is related to the physical and ideological survival of man, his beliefs, his fears and needs, with intellectual, emotional, social and economic performance. Rock art reflects the landscape and the environment, not only of a region but of the sites in particular. The investigation of rock art allows us to get closer to the motivations and intentions of each one of the groups that created it and to its differential elements.
